For the last 30 years I've had a personal trainer to keep me strong. I was a speed skater for 12 years, and then switched to rowing for the next 12 years, until an injury sidelined me for a year. For the last 5 years I've been bored with my training and trainer. Although he is a great guy, it was the same old routine.

I really wanted to lose 10 pounds but it was always lose 5 then gain 5 over and over and I was ready to do something different. After speaking to one of my good friends who just finished the first 42 day challenge and loved it, I decided to join the next challenge. Well it was just what I needed. The time seemed to fly by because of all the different workouts and stations they had set up. I will say I'm not too excited about "doing stairs" but I can do them much faster now than when I started. I was impressed that they understood if you had a prior injury and couldn't do a certain exercise they substituted another exercise for you and REMEMBERED what your injury was.

Of course eating and drinking was a big part on how much weight you lose and they helped you everyday with all meal planning. I had no problem with their "rules" except I didn't like the one about no wine!!

I never say "uncle" and I'm a firm believer that what you "put in" is what you "get out" of anything you do. When I was in my 50's I blew out my ACL but I was back to rowing in 3 months and completely finished with PT in 4 months, so I knew I could do anything. I feel so much stronger now and after losing 16 1/2 pounds and 6 inches from my waist I have accomplished what I set out to do. I'm so comfortable at Metro and with Tony that I have signed up to do weekly training and I have a feeling I will always be training here from now on.
